“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” - Karl lagerfeld

Hello, I’m Kirsty Collister.

My journey in photography began with an SLR camera and a darkroom that I built myself. From there my interest in photography grew and while living in China for five years, I was able to refine my personal style and approach to photography.

I’m selective about what I photograph and focus on documenting the day-to-day lives of people from other cultures plus the natural beauty of different cities and terrains.

I had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Asia; I wandered the streets to capture candid moments of the locals as I explored new places.

My travel photography was noticed by Getty Images and I became a contributor for them in 2011. I also hold Licentiateship Honours from the Photographic Society of New Zealand.

I hope you enjoy exploring my photography.
